Anyone who can please help! I just did a battery change on the Bally Pro 5500 and did the Complete Saferam Clear. It took, as evidenced by the codes on the led. Everything seems to work but the bill validator and it will not accept coins. No light is lite on the coin compairitor either. I set game options but some numbers game up not in my manual. Any ideas? Thanks.!

your game lost its denomination when you pulled the battery. it doesnt know how many credits to add for bills, coins, whatever, so its spitting them out/ im not familiar with the set options on the 5500 but i do think you need a set chip, similar to an IGT slot. regardless, however it is done, you need to set your machines denomination. that is the problem.

Thanks, Mike! But I did reset all game options, and even did an Output Diagnostics and the BV lighted up during the test. Some of the newer 5500's do require clear ram chips, but mine doesn't- the safram took as indicated by the codes given on the LED. Are you ready for this? I posted as well this dilema on the Slot Tech board and I got the answer! When I did the Saferam clear procedure, I accidently flipped a little toggle switch on the MPU next to the other switches on the outside of the mpu tray- it is called the coin mech switch. It must be up to have the BV and Coin mech work. Well, I had hit it and it was down. I flipped it back up and everything works perfect! What an easy fix, right in front of me, but I didn't know- the manuals say nothing about it. These forums are so very valuable, there is nothing like a slot techs experience! Thanks again Mike! Bob
